Safeguarding

Our Commitments

At Union Church, we are committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and caring environment for everyone who attends our gatherings.

We believe that every person is made in the image of God and should be treated with dignity, respect, and care. We take seriously our responsibility to safeguard children, young people, and adults who may be at risk of harm.

Our leaders, volunteers, and workers are committed to following our safeguarding procedures and receiving appropriate safeguarding training. We also work with relevant statutory agencies and our safeguarding partner, Thirtyone:eight.

We are committed to:

  • Promoting the welfare and protection of children and adults at risk.

  • Creating a safe environment for all who attend our church activities.

  • Following recognised safeguarding procedures and good practice.

  • Responding appropriately to concerns, disclosures, or allegations of abuse.

  • Supporting those who have been affected by abuse.

  • Ensuring those serving within the church are appropriately trained and supported.
