Our Church
We are Union Church, a Reformed church family serving Stowmarket, Suffolk. We meet each Sunday in Stowupland, just outside Stowmarket.
Our name reflects what we believe lies at the very heart of the Christian life: union with Jesus Christ. Through faith, God unites us to His Son by the Holy Spirit, bringing us into the love the Father has always shared with the Son. In Christ we find forgiveness, righteousness, belonging, identity, purpose, and rest.
We gather each Sunday to sing, pray, read God’s Word, hear Christ preached, and share fellowship together. Through these ordinary means, God refreshes weary hearts, strengthens faith, and reminds us of all that is ours in Christ.
We are convinced that the Christian life is not about climbing spiritual ladders or following a five-step programme for self-improvement. It is about receiving Christ again and again, resting in His finished work, and learning to live from the fullness of what He has already accomplished for us.
As a church family, we seek to encourage one another in faith, support one another through life’s joys and struggles, and share the good news of Jesus with those around us. Whether you have followed Christ for many years, have questions about Christianity, or are simply looking for hope and rest in a restless world, you are warmly welcome among us.
Our Fellowship
Union Church is part of the Union with Christ Fellowship of Churches (UCFC), a fellowship of Reformed churches united by a shared commitment to the gospel and meaningful relationships between pastors and congregations.
The churches within UCFC are connected through a Presbyterian form of church government and a common theological vision centred on:
1. The biblical Gospel, what it is and what it is not
2. The historic Reformed Confessions
3. The Five Solas of the Reformation
4. Union with Christ as central to salvation and the Christian life
Our fellowship exists to encourage faithfulness to Christ, strengthen local churches, support church planting, and foster deep relationships among pastors and congregations for the good of Christ’s kingdom.
